All It Takes Is Love

By Wes Myhre

Through the years while researching YHWH Elohim and Yeshua Hamashiach and trying to follow the Torah, often times pastors, friends, and family have told my wife and I that we are putting ourselves back under the law, that we are no longer hip to the New Testament, or that we are going through a phase from which we will soon depart. Mind you, these people, sincere and well-meaning, who we know and love, are truly concerned for my wife and I, our welfare, and future. Several times we have mentioned to family and friends we do not eat unclean foods, and we try not to make an issue of it, so as not to be stumbling blocks. Moreover, blocking someone from running off a cliff, walking in front of a moving vehicle, or any other event causing bodily harm or death is expected from those of us living in a civilized, YHWH fearing land.  Not many people would argue this point, certainly not James. However, these dietary issues seem to spark deep seated annoyance amongst the main stream church members with whom we know. Hence the question, where should we stand on the issue of informing family and friends on YHWH’s law and loving Him when it comes to those issues listed in the Bible?

Well, Yeshua gave us the answer in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, concerning the question of where to stand.

12 And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.  Matthew 10:12-14

10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place. 11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. Mark 6:10-11

And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart. And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. Luke 9:4-5

So reading these verses in their context, we find these phrases “whoever will not receive YHWH’s Word,” fairly straight forward, but “shake the dust from your feet” now this idiom has an interesting meaning.

Michael Verdicchio in his article, Shake the Dust Off Your Feet, explains:

“This Eastern idiom means to shake off any animosity or bitter feelings which you may have toward someone.  In doing so, when you leave, you leave with peace in your heart and mind.  You don’t take with you any resentment for others.  In other words, don’t take any anger, hurt, blame or regret with you when you leave”(Verdicchio).

We cannot leave our family and friends physically, but we can choose not to broach certain topics with them, a second time, as well as to not harbor bitter feelings towards our loved ones and friends.  However, we must take into consideration Yeshua’s command to us, albeit through His disciples, to teach the nations:

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.  Matthew 28:19-20

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. Psalms 96:3

So, if we choose not to visit with family and friends on a certain topic which would assist in making a disciple, are we disobeying Yeshua’s command?

Well, if those people hearing Yeshua’s Word, that we have shared with them, refuse to hear it, accept it, or obey it, than the burden is on them.  On the other hand, if we refuse to share Yeshua’s Word with others due to our discomfort or any other convenient excuse we use, than the burden of not obeying Yeshua’s command found in Matthew 28 falls on us.  To complicate matters, the more I study and learn the Tanakh [Torah, Nevi’im (Prophets), and Ketuvim (Writings), and Brit Chadashah], the more I find I have a need to share what I have learned with others; furthermore, those things being revealed through the scriptures by the Holy Spirit, Ruach Hakodesh, defy the predominant ideas endorsed by today’s church.  Not just me but many others of whom I have visited are experiencing the same thing.

Overall though, this strife caused by adhering to the traditions of men or the rudiments of pagan religions and not rightly dividing the word is the same battle Yeshua fought as testified to in the Brit Chadashah.  Check out Matthew 15 and Mark 7, and not much has changed since then; that Babylonian snake has interwoven itself down through the annals of history promoting the same lie as was first uttered in the Garden of Eden, “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Genesis 3:1).  A good book to read on this is by Dr. Michael Lake, The Shinar Directive or watch the video Babylon Rising by Rob Skiba.

When questioning man’s traditions, church members accuse us of being like the serpent in the garden saying, “Hath God actually said.”  However, I turn it around and ask, “Are we living out what YHWH (God) actually said?”  The favorite response of the mainstream church is “all it takes is love.”  It boggles my mind as to what is actually being said when these words are uttered. We will come back to this later.

We need to review our biblically proven hermeneutics, and that in depth study can be found here, Blog Post 2.

  • YHWH is never changing: was, is, and will be. (Satan is never changing, always the father of lies.)
  • It takes two or three witnesses to establish a matter.
  • God will reveal a matter to His Prophets.

Do you remember these? If not go to the Blog Post 2 link and read that study.

So moving on, let us define loving Yeshua, biblically. We find in John 14:15 Yeshua informing us, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Alright, if we have read the Tanakh we have seen this precept before.

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Exodus 20:6

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. Deuteronomy 5:10

Wait a minute.  Isn’t the Old Testament talking about YHWH and the New Testament talking about Yeshua?  This article by hebrew4christians.com outlines that YHWH and Yeshua are one and the article provides the biblical proof beyond a shadow of a doubt.  Please read the article before continuing on and check the scriptural references provided.

Furthermore, we find in the book of John,

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”  John1:1-5, 14 (Emphasis added.)

At this time let us veer off on a short rabbit trail and check out something profoundly stimulating.  In the above passage we see all things were made by him, including the law.  Please notice, Word in the Greek is defined by Strong’s Definition as:

λόγος lógos, log’-os; from G3004; something said (including the thought); by implication, a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension, a computation; specially, (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (i.e. Christ):—account, cause, communication, × concerning, doctrine, fame, × have to do, intent, matter, mouth, preaching, question, reason, + reckon, remove, say(-ing), shew, × speaker, speech, talk, thing, + none of these things move me, tidings, treatise, utterance, word, work.

Logos means spoken word.  So now let us look at the creation story found in Genesis.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light… And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters… 14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:  Genesis 1:3,6,14 (Emphasis added.)

Notice creation occurred through the spoken word, “let there be…” Yeshua made the heavens and the earth by speaking. Ever stop and think this important language of Yeshua needed a system of sound, and an organized system of sound will have letters or symbols, and we serve YHWH, who is not of chaos but of organization; furthermore, Yeshua created this system of sound first, known as the Aleph-Bet. You can go to this link for an interesting study of the Hebrew Language from hebrew4christians.com.

Ok, let us return to the subject of who created all things and find another witness proclaiming Yeshua formed everything, and it is found in Colossians.

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. Colossians 1:13-18 (Emphasis mine.)

Now we have proven Yeshua created everything, such as the Aleph-bet; and furthermore, the bible states:

And the Lord said unto Moses (Mosheh), Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. Exodus 24:12

1At that time the Lord said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood. And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark. And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand. And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the Lord spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the Lord gave them unto me. And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the Lord commanded me.  Deuteronomy 10:1-5  (Emphasis mine.)

All righty then, what does all this mean?

Let us review some passages showing Yeshua is YHWH:

I and [my] Father are one. John 10:30

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58

And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
John 20:28

Let us make some connections. Yeshua and YHWH are one, and Yeshua created all things, including the commandments and ordnances. Therefore, the commandments and ordinances Yeshua gave to Mosheh where His and of His creation, and furthermore, when we read the following verses, we will need to read them somewhat differently, now.

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.  John 14:15

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:21

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1 John 2:3

2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:2-3

And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 2 John 6

17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12

The point now is driven home somewhat differently than what is found being taught in the mainstream church.  I do want to take time and submit a caveat.  I have several family and friends who are saved, humble, and attempting to follow Yeshua with all their heart, soul and mind as they see fit.  But, that is the point, we need to love YHWH how He sees fit not from our own imaginations.

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6:5  (Emphasis added.)

But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward Jeremiah 7:24 (Emphasis added.)

An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, Proverbs 6:18 (Emphasis added.)

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:5

Remember salvation does not come through keeping all the commandments, but keeping them is a sign of salvation.  Furthermore, you will not find in the whole bible where salvation was ever attained through works.  But you will find salvation has been and always was through that of Yeshua Hamashiach, which was established before the foundation of the world was set into place.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 13:8 (Emphasis added.)

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. John 17:24 (Emphasis added.)

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Ephesians 1:4 (Emphasis added.)

Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 1 Peter 1:20 (Emphasis added.)

So now going back to this response of, “all it takes is love.” My first question is, “how do we love Yeshua?”

For far too many years we have been side tracked to believe we can split YHWH and Yeshua in two entities, thus allowing us to escape having to follow YHWH’s instructions to suit our selfish needs and desires, because the church has taught YHWH brings the curse of the law and Yeshua brings the blessing, but we see that is not so.

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy LAW IS within my heart.  Psalms 40:8  (Emphasis added.)

Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy LAW IS my delight. Psalms 119:77 (Emphasis added.)

Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy LAW IS the truth. Psalms 119:142 (Emphasis added.)

I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy LAW IS my delight. Psalm 119:174 (Emphasis added.)

For the commandment is a lamp; and the LAW IS light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: Proverb 6:23 (Emphasis added.)

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the LAW IS the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20 (Emphasis added.)

Wherefore the LAW IS holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Romans 7:12 (Emphasis added.)

Therefore, if we do not want to follow YHWH’s commands or laws, we are sinning, for sinning is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4) or lawlessness.

And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:23 NKJV (Emphasis added.)

The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, Matthew 13:41 NKJV (Emphasis added.)

Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. Matthew 23:28 NKJV (Emphasis added.)

And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. Matthew 24:12 NKJV (Emphasis added.)

I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. Romans 6:19 NKJV (Emphasis added.)

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 NKJV (Emphasis added.)

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 2 Thessalonians 2:7 NKJV (Emphasis added.)

You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” Hebrews 1:9 NKJV (Emphasis added.)

Also, the scriptures tell us to love the YHWH and Yeshua with our strength, heart and soul.

30 “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:3031 (Emphasis added.)

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Matthew 22:37 (Emphasis added.)

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Luke 10:27 (Emphasis added.)

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 1 John 4:7

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deuteronomy 6:5 (Emphasis added.)

Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 13:3 (Emphasis added.)

But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. Joshua 22:5 (Emphasis added.)

12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good? Deuteronomy 10:12-13  (Emphasis added.)

And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. Deuteronomy 30:6 (Emphasis added.)

Well, we must love YHWH and Yeshua with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind.  So this is accomplished, through following YHWH’s commands, ordinances, and statutes, or lumped together, Torah, which also represents instructions or law.

Do a self-study of YHWH laws and how they affect the body.
