As a deputy sheriff and a justice of the peace, I often found that teenagers marveled at how we, “old” people, had an innate understanding as to what the mischievous teenager was doing and how he was doing it. Often these pre-adults and young adults would ask how I knew about their questionable activity, after the case was adjudicated. I always answered, “Well it is like this. I was young once, too.” Insinuating I had tried or watched someone try the same things the said teenage defendant had done. During these occasions, I would recall this verse.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9
Most all serious bible students have heard and read so much about this verse and its meaning, usually by listening to sermons or reading essays penned throughout the generations of bible scholars, concerning how this passage essentially does not mean what is garnered from a very simple reading of it. Think of the ramifications of this verse if we believed what is actually written from the plain language. Our paradigm will shift 180 degrees. So, let us consider this verse at face value and evaluate the physical proof being discovered in our earthly realm and how those discoveries apply to this verse.
I submit that evidence provided will demonstrate this verse must be taken at face value and believed. However, several writers and biblical teachers want to explain away this verse through a variety of English jargon, but suffice it to say, often times, no matter how implausible or impossible it might be, the simple understanding of a biblical passage must be sought and taken as fact, as long as the foundational context supports it.
Let us look at how it was translated from the Hebrew to English. First we have the Hebrew form, then the English transliteration of the Hebrew, and finally the English version.

Here are the first nine verses of the book Ecclesiastes chapter 1.
1The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. 2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. 3 What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun? 4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever. 5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose. 6 The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits. 7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again. 8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. 9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:1-9
The common meaning, “Things to do not change and there is nothing new under the sun. What has been will be again.” It sounds pretty straight forward, right? The first argument used against this verse concerns the new technology and its information which we garner everyday through the internet, TV, and other media. The skeptics rebut by asking, “Do you expect me to believe the ancients had computers, TV’s, and a multitude of other technological advances which we have today?”
My first question back, “Do we know everything today?” My next questions, “Was Adam created with perfect brain function, or did he have a defective brain? What technology existed before the flood? Is our current technology a substitute for our own lack of physical and mental capabilities which humans once possessed?”
So in order to understand where I am coming from thus far, we must move back down to the science and history classes we remember from junior high and high school and possibly college and deconstruct what we have learned in several of those classes. Furthermore, we must consider we have been part of an agenda to indoctrinate the masses. Let me show you.
To briefly explain what I mean, just think what is required in order to believe in evolution. First, we need to agree circular reasoning is a logical form persuasion and an acceptable argument. By suspending our disbelief and embrace this concept of circular reasoning, then we can infer the geological time scale has merit. The layers of earth represent ages of time. Here is the circular reasoning, these ages of time are determined by the fossils found in the rock layers, and the ages of the fossils are determined by the layer in which they were found, one determines the other, hence we go in circles, circular reasoning.
Second, we must accept changes from one kind of animal to another kind in which no one has ever witnessed these types of changes due the changes taking millions of years to occur. This virtually discounts the scientific method since it requires observable, measureable, and repeatable events. However to combat this inadequacy, evolutionists propose since changes of characteristics in same kind animals occurs for their survival then this concept of change should occur from one kind of animal to another. In other words a witnessed and measurable change within specific animal is observed, short haired dog to long haired dog in a colder climate. The evolutionist transfers this observation within a kind of animal to the concept of one kind of animal changing to another kind, a dog to a horse let us say, because grass is only available for nutrition. Theoretically, this change would happen over billions of years but by the use of concept transference, we do not need to physically observe the change or retest the hypothesis. Really it boils down to, if a professional says it is true than it is true.

Also, we must understand the law of biogenesis, all life comes from life. Nowhere has it been observed that none life produces life.
Furthermore, breaking down evolution to its basic rudiments, let us assume for a moment nonlife spontaneously comes to life. Think on this “non-chalk becomes chalk.” Ok back to the essay. Where did this life form obtain its food? The theory is it created its own food. It ate itself!
Please, put just a little thought into this. This life form obtained its needed energy from the energy it produced, another magic ingredient. Remember, it takes energy to create energy. This life form not only spontaneously exploded to life, but in order to survive hours, days, even months, it continued to have micro detonations producing its own food. So now, we are expected to believe this life form eats itself long enough to create within its DNA the proper information in order for it to divide, using more energy, to produce offspring with the capability to grow receptacles in order to harness solar energy and absorb it. So not only does it eat itself to survive, but it eats itself to survive long enough divide giving its offspring more information in the DNA.
Remember the First Law of Energy, “Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. This means that you can’t make energy out of nothing— the total amount of energy in the universe is a constant.” (Authors note: a type of receptacle needs to be in place in order to harness the sun’s energy; otherwise, this energy will cause deterioration to the environment, lifeforms, and other objects.)
Now, the next logical conclusion shows us the offspring’s offspring ate each other. Let us consider this first, small life form using its own body for energy created more life forms and thus several generations down, the offspring began eating one another. Please understand this all began after water sat on rocks for millions of years formulating a thick, gaseous sludge of dirt and sand. It was in this concoction of a glorified mud soup that life simmered and finally exploded into life. So the theory goes that from a small insignificant simple cell, life evolved and it continued to become smarter, stronger, and more resilient. Theoretically, this life form can become as a god through millions and billions of years. We have been brained washed enough that we transfer this evolution idea (sound familiar?) of starting out without knowledge and attaining it as the human species lives. You have seen the picture of an ameba gradually growing over billions of years into monkey and finally into a homo sapien, sapien (This is advanced man).
We must cast out this notion of Adam being dumb, wearing fresh skinned animal skins and walking around clubbing whatever it was that ventured in his way as we have been led to believe. We are told in Genesis YHWH/Yeshua kicked Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden. Why is this important?
What was the Garden of Eden? Was it just a garden here on earth which encompassed several varieties of plants and foods which Adam was tasked with tending, or was it something more such as another dimensional-local where YHWH/Yeshua could commune with Adam and the rest of His creation?
Once Adam sinned YHWH/Yeshua kicked him out of the Garden and stationed cherubim at the entrances. Why is this important? Why not just take the Tree of Life out of the Garden?
So let us look at what we do know. YHWH /Yeshua created everything perfectly and sin did not exist before the fall of man.
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Isaiah 53:9
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 1 John 3:5
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 1 Peter 2:22
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15

Also, remember how Yeshua created everything, He said, “Let there be…” and this is why it is important that no guile was found in His mouth, thus He created everything perfectly and with free will.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deuteronomy 30:19

So, we have freedom to choose who we want to follow. This is free will, and Adam was created in this capacity because he chose not to follow YHWY/Yeshua’s command and freely partook in the forbidden fruit after Eve was deceived.
15And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:15-17
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty… 2 Corinthians 11:3
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Genesis 3:6
Now then, what was really lost in the Garden? Man’s life. He would die. What does this really mean? Did Adam die immediately? No, but he was driven from the Garden before he ate of the fruit from the tree of life, which would allow him to live forever. Thus the slow process of death began in man. Think of the implications if he had eaten from the tree of life, living forever while still continuing to die, dying but always living, zombie on steroids. This has hints of Revelation 9:6 “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” Let us move on.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17 (Emphasis added.)
And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Genesis 3:22 (Emphasis added.)
Also, we must consider YHWH/Yeshua had commanded Adam to keep and tend the garden. This task required a sophistication and mental capability of knowing and understanding plant and animal growth of that time. Adam was required to work, which in of itself dictates he required sufficient knowledge to follow and carry out YHWH/Yeshua’s commands, otherwise he would be sinning. Remember 1 John 3:4, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” We see Adam needed knowledge and it was perfect knowledge when he was created and given commands. This knowledge changed once he partook of the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
So moving on, Adam lived 930 years, Mathuselah lived 969 years, and Noah lived 950 years, then the flood. Arphaxad lived 438 years, Peleg lived 239 years, and Abraham lived 175 years, Isaac lived 180 years, and Jacob lived 150 years. We see a downward trend concerning the lifespan of man. In our contemporary day we have a mean lifespan of about 76 years.
Let us break this down to its pure essence in the category of education. For the sake of discussion let us assume for the time being Adam was created with just the bare fundamentals of knowledge to survive. He lived 930 years a little over 12 times as long as we do today. That would be like living from 1086 to 2016. Just think of the knowledge a common person could attain through just living this long. However, remember, right before the fall, Adam and Eve’s brains were perfect having the equivalent of a 200 IQ or probably higher. They had perfect physical bodies, as well, and lived in a perfect world. Boom! The fall! Things did not fall apart right away, but the slow process of entropy began.
This should debunk this notion of evolving from a nonlife form into an intelligent god over a period of several millions or billions of years, the lie in the garden, “…ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Genesis 3:5
But because we do suffer from indoctrination stemming from the fall in the garden, let us look at the evidence. Man did not start out dumb and grow to intellectual prowess that we are today, killing our young and selling their body parts. Really, please think about it. Are we getting more intelligent? Or just think we are?
We consume millions of pounds of drugs per year to combat imperfect bodies; we collect millions of books and megabytes of electronic storage in order to remember all our knowledge. We can see our environment is falling down around us. Oceans are dying. Deserts are growning. We have war on weeds, predators, and climate change. This is just to name a few of the issues in this fallen world with which we struggle. We use calendars, books, and computers to help our brains, automobiles to help travel, machines to help us work, and chemicals to combat environmental difficulties.
Right after the fall, man had an enormous IQ, the almost perfect body, and a nearly flawless environment, but sin had started to enter the world slowly reconstructing the fundamental structures of everything it contacted. We know this as entropy or the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
Think back to science where we learned how we carry DNA in our genes, and how this DNA dictates how the body is created in the womb and grown. Do not forget that the DNA in each of us is just a copy of a copy, also affected by sin. Our environment and physical bodies have changed since Adam. As we have seen the decreasing in the mortality mean age from Adam to now, the same goes for our general IQ.
Our smartest person today could not begin to compete with Adam in a game of Chess. The game would be over before it began. Do not believe me? Now then, let us look at the technology in use today. Simply put all technologies have been invented as a replacement for something with which we lack mentally or physically. We have been led to believe over the centuries man has only gotten smarter, but as we just worked through it is possible the exact opposite is true. So then, following this same logic would it be possible that this same technology applied before, or was the human body capable of performing the tasks where today we have to employee machines and computers?
So let us look at these questions, “What technology existed before the flood? Is our current technology a substitute for our own lack of physical and mental capabilities which humans once possessed?”
Ever hear of OOPART, Out Of Place ARTifacts? You can search the internet and find several sites espousing the existence of these ancient articles and vestiges as well as discovering many sites debunking their presence. I am certain we can argue both sides of certain matters on several of the discoveries through the years. Furthermore, if you investigate these things, you will find evidence for some very real artifacts created using advanced technologies as well as some fake; however, determinations on both sides of the issue are often deduced from subjective sources and other opinionated data.
Therefore, for our study I have chosen to limit them to megalithic structures, which we can at least see. Through the technologies needed to construct these edifices, we will be able to understand the highly complex knowledge used by these, most likely pre-flood, ancients. And yet these structures exhibit high-tech attributes which surpass our own understanding. Let us look at some examples of unexplained knowledge used in the ancient world. Tiahuanaco in Bolivia -“Tiahuanaco is an example of engineering so monumental that it dwarfs even the work of the Aztecs. Stone blocks on the site weigh anything up to 65 tons. They bear no chisel marks, so the means by which they were shaped remains a mystery. The stone itself came from two different quarries. One supplied sandstone and was situated 10 miles away. It shows signs of having produced blocks weighing up to 400 tons. Sacsayhuamán –“Located on the outskirts of the ancient Inca capital of Cuzco. It rests on an artificially levelled mountaintop, and consists of three outer lines of gargantuan walls, 1,500 ft long and 54 ft wide, surrounding a paved area containing a circular stone structure believed to be a solar calendar. No one knows when the Sacsayhuamán was exactly built, although theories abound, but what we do know if it was not the Inca, than it was a civilization before their existence, which still falls into the ancient past.
Olmec Civilization-“The stone head sculptures of the Olmec civilization of the Gulf Coast of Mexico (1200 BCE – 400 BCE) are amongst the most mysterious and debated artefacts from the ancient world. The most agreed upon theory is that, because of their unique physical features and the difficulty and cost involved in their creation, they represent Olmec rulers.” http://www.ancient.eu/article/672/
While considering megalithic and antediluvian structures found all over the world, do research on pyramids, cyclopean walls, cities, standing stones, and variety of religious ritual locations. Remember a megalithic structure is a non-natural organization of usually giant stones in which an ancient artifact is produced. Antediluvian is one on these structures built before the great flood.
In the article titled, Unravelling the Mystery Behind the Megalithic Stone Walls of Saksaywaman, by April Holloway on the website Ancient Origins Lying, we find in part a description of a stone wall as well as pictures.
“On the northern outskirts of the city of Cusco in Peru, lies the walled complex of Saksaywaman (Sacsayhuaman). The site is famed for its remarkable large dry stone walls with boulders carefully cut to fit together tightly without mortar. The stones used in the construction of the terraces at Saksaywaman, which weigh up to 200 tonnes, are among the largest used in any building in prehispanic America, and display a precision of fitting that is unmatched in the Americas. The stones are so closely spaced that a single piece of paper will not fit between many of the stones. We also find from an article titled, Baalbek a Colossal Enigma, by Gian J Quasar from the website Biblioteca Pleyades:
“Questions constantly crop up concerning these blocks. Baalbek may become a focal point for the dichotomy being uncovered throughout the world today between the prehistoric past we assume existed and our earliest cultures of history.
“The massive and elegant Roman stonework and columns pale by comparison to the megaliths they were built upon. The temple very visibly incorporates into its foundation, stones of some 1,500 tons. They are some 68 x 14 x 14 feet! They are the largest worked stones on earth! It is a mystery how such stones could have been moved into place, even according to our science and engineering knowledge of today. An aside as well as my own opinion, in your research you will find stones carved with inside 90 degree rectangular holes in hard stone, possibly using precision tools, and absolutely surpassing that of today’s standards.
Let us look at the technology the bible discusses.
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. 11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; 12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. Genesis 2:10-12
What does it mean the “the gold of that land is good”? What we can infer from this verse is that the inhabitants distinguished between good and bad gold, possibly for smelting purposes. Meaning they had knowledge in metals.
21 And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.22And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah. Genesis 4:21-22
Here we see the knowledge of music and the understanding of it through the harp, a stringed instrument, and an organ, most likely a reed instrument. Further, metallurgy shows us the knowledge of brass and iron was evident in the pre-flood world.
Here are other verses in the bible relating to metallurgy.

For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man. Deuteronomy 3:11
A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. Deuteronomy 8:9
And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron. Judges 1:19
5 And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. 6 And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders. 7 And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him. 1 Samuel 17:5-7
11 And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones. 12 And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the Lord, and for the king’s house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day. 13 And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. 14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold, 15 Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country. 16 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target. 1 Kings 10:11-16
Finally, for more discoveries on antediluvian technology, let us look at the task Noah undertook in preparing the Ark for the sole purpose of saving mankind and the animals with the breath of life. At the very least Noah had to understand a form of measurement, the cubit, which entails an innate comprehension of arithmetic, as well as to identify trees, engineer three decks to hold several tons of weight, fashion a ship in order that it will hold together in extreme weather and seas, and construct tools needed to perform the task. The argument used showing Noah’s lack of technology consists of YHWH giving him the exact instructions as to what precisely to do, and if that is the case, Noah still needed to have knowledge in order to execute the given tasks in order to complete this enormous project. Parallel this project with that of a construction superintendent, whose responsibilities consist of scheduling, inspecting job performance, quality control of material, and site safety management to name a few. This took skill and know-how. A great engineer did not tell a kindergartner to build a floating zoo.

Do you really believe YHWH/Yeshua would risk having an unskilled worker construct such an important structure as the Ark? Well you might respond with, “Yeshua’s disciples were uneducated.” Do not be so sure about that. Consider this,
“The Mishnah(1) describes the educational process for a young Jewish boy in Jesus’ time. At five years old [one is fit] for the Scripture, at ten years the Mishnah (oral Torah, interpretations) at thirteen for the fulfilling of the commandments, at fifteen the Talmud (making Rabbinic interpretations), at eighteen the bride-chamber, at twenty pursuing a vocation, at thirty for authority (able to teach others). This clearly describes the exceptional student, for very few would become teachers but indicates the centrality of Scripture in the education in Galilee. So, we do have proof high level technology existed in ancient ages. Now weather you accept that or not remains to be seen. Nonetheless though, we do know man apart from a relationship with YHWH/Yeshua is evil continually.
